Team

The habits that make a team worth trusting.

We keep a book of them and we hold each other to it. Say the real status, even when the real status is that we are behind. Promise a date you can hit, then beat it. Reply even when the answer is not yet. Spend a customer's hours like your own money.

CH.02 · How we work

Five habits, and what each one costs us when we skip it.

  1. 01
    Be honest

    Say the real status

A rosy status that falls apart next week costs far more than one uncomfortable sentence today. People can plan around a real problem. Nobody can plan around a comfortable fiction.

  2. 02
    Own the work

    Own it end to end

Done means shipped, verified, and the person waiting on it knows it is there. Work is not finished when it leaves your hands. It is finished when it lands in someone else’s.

  3. 03
    Work as a team

    Disagree, then commit

Say it now, loudly, with the counter-argument and the evidence. Once the call is made, pull in the same direction as if the idea had been yours. Both halves, or it does not work.

  4. 04
    Serve the customer

    Respect the customer's hours

Every hour we log gets billed, and behind that invoice is a person who trusted us with the number. If the work is not worth the hour, we do not log the hour.

  5. 05
    Keep growing

Say I do not know, then go find out

An honest gap beats an invented answer that collapses next week. Not knowing is fine. Staying that way, or bluffing past it, is not.

We hire slowly and for a long time. If that sounds like you, look at the open roles.

Bring us the problem nobody has cracked yet.

We are a small team of senior specialists. We pick the right model and the right layer, and we build the least machinery that does the job. You get a call with an engineer, not a sales deck.
